Established in 1967, South Suburban Junior Football Association is a not-for-profit, adult volunteer and operated, youth football program for children between the ages of 5-14 – A Youth Sport Program that provides the fundamental nurturing experiences that builds a strong foundation for future success in Sport and in Life!  We provide an encouraging environment for boys and girls between the ages of 5-14 who desire the opportunity to participate and grow in youth football.   SSJFA is dedicated to providing outstanding coaching, mentorship, and education to all participants as well as help establish the value and morals of future leaders.

 

SSJFA is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization comprised of volunteer men and women committed to providing a safe supervised outlet for our youth that focuses on personal improvement and community involvement.  SSJFA program is designed to introduce, teach and develop the fundamentals of football to our local youth - as well as promote good sportsmanship, teamwork and healthy competition.  Each division is based on age and experience providing quality instruction in the fundamentals of football skill development while emphasizing the importance of family values, academic achievement, good sportsmanship and fair play.

    Each year we begin early registration starting in May.  If you would like to get on our mailing list please email us your name and address and we will add you to future mailings.

    Do you have weight limits?

    Each division has certain weight limits.  Weight limits are determined by the position and age of a player.  In order to be a ball carrier (player advancing the ball) please refer to the Player Weight Chart.

    How much are league fees?

    Flag football fees are $60.00 and tackle fees are $125.000 which includes equipment,uniforms, and participation trophies and awards.

    How long is the football season?

    Practices begin the 1stweek of August with the 1st game of the season the weekend after Labor Day.  Playoffs begin in October at the conclusion of the regular season and the Super Bowl is played the 2nd weekend in November.  Refer to the Game Schedules for complete details.

    Is there a mandatory play rule?

    Each team fills out a play sheet on each player, requiring that every child play at least 18 plays.

    Where are the games played?
